SiFu Henry Araneda
Born
in Sydney, Australia, he began his martial arts training at a very
young age in various styles, achieving an instructor's level in
different styles.
During the early 90's he immigrated to Chile, South America with
his family, where he was involved in Tae Kwon Do and Kung Fu for
many years. SiFu Henry competed at an international level where
he always attained 1st place.
SiFu Henry was always intrigued by Wing Chun theory in fighting
and of course like many he was a Bruce Lee fan.
At the time there were no Wing Chun schools in Chile, so after some
research he heard of Master Li Hon Ki based in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Henry made contact with the Master, and soon after a young Henry
was found his way to Brazil with a lot of hope and even more determination.
He traveled on a bus for more than 72 hours crossing three countries
just to meet the Master!!
SiFu Henry Araneda, was accepted by Master Li Hon Ki, as his private
student.
That was the beginning of a great journey and one of so many trips
he made by bus to Brazil to continue his private training with Master
Li Hon Ki staying with the Master for extended periods of time at
the Masters home.
Since returning to Australia SiFu Henry has travelled extensively
to Hong Kong and China to further develop his Wing Chun skills under
the tutelage of SiFu Duncan Leung. He hosted an international seminar
in Melbourne, Australia for SiFu Duncan Leung in 2006 where he was
accompanied by Sifu Alan Lee (New York) and Sifu Florian Walter
(Switzerland).
SiFu Henry is currently organising another international seminar
for SiFu Duncan Leung in Chile. It is his goal to help promote SiFu
Duncan Leung's interpretation of Wing Chun Kung Fu.
